This is the remains of a 3hp Tecumseh off of a west wood rotavator.The engine was beyond saving really as it needed a new carb and mag. I've fitted a 3hp Briggs in its place. I was inspired by a couple of other vids on youtube of a open crank Suffolk and a kohler. I'd tried to do this before with a Suffolk with a broken crankcase, but never got it running. This has the vapor carb off of the go kart in one of my other vids fitted.The vapor carb wasn't really suited to a gokart as the engine speed is constantly changing but for this it is fine. Lubrication is by drip feed oiler for the mains.These were bodged out of part of a tap, a villiers float bowl and other random bits I have laying around. I intend to replace these with either greasers or proper drip feed oilers now that I know it runs. The big end is lubricated by a grease nipple, I had to cut a groove into the big end with a dremel!!! The cylinder is lubricated with a small hold leading through from the valve chamber, I shall again fit a drip feed oiler here. There is a 1/4" aluminum spacer between the block and the head to reduce compression, though I may make a thicker one. The original points were retained, though the coil was shot, these were modified to allow me to fit a timing advance/retard lever. The second flywheel is off my stuart water pump, I want to replace this at some point. I have not built the hit and miss mechanism yet, I shall get one with that today (13/0 need to make some kind of cooling system ...
